Hello Spring, Hello September

Hello September! You have been amazing these past few days and it’s horrible that I can’t enjoy you while I’m inside, boo! It has been an insane couple of weeks as of late and I apologise immensely for my absence but I have been busy!

A couple of weeks ago I played stylist and helped 2 good friends of mine find a suit for the formal and for a job interview. It was fun and happy to have had that experience. It was one day after the other and on the Saturday, I went into work early and straight away went into the city. My friend now bffl introduced me to Harrolds and I died and went to designer heaven! We both fell in love with a $2,000 suit and of course being us, we were followed throughout the store. Our eyes wouldn’t have been wider!

What also came a few days ago was VFNO! Oh how fun it was! I purchased a VFNO tee the day before with the help of a good friend of mine and I slapped myself for not wearing it that night! Everyone look fabulous and the shopping is always fun! I can’t wait til next year.

On another awesome note, I won the Finders Keepers instagram competition and won 2x tickets to the Australian Fashion Labels runway show at MBFFS! I was at work and I literally jumped up and down like a crazy person, I have never won anything in my life! Of course I’m excited and happy and hope to meet and see people there! (I hope I don’t scare other bloggers if I bump into you!)

I think this month so far as been good, I’m not sick, I’m getting around to do hip hop classes (oh yes! I’m that bad Asian in the back!) and I’m also able to catch up with friends and I guess, find little inspirations here and there for the blog!

Simple Florals

Jacket by Topshop | Shorts by Paper Heart | Shoes by Asos

I have been loving the sun in Sydney lately, it’s a massive difference from the doom and gloom, and the rain! It feels so nice to be in the sun and I was finally able to whip out my favourite shorts, and when I say it is a favourite, I really mean it. It may be winter but once the florals come out, it’s a good sign!

I find that I normally wear one patterned or floral piece as a statement piece and keep everything else very simple, something similar to my ‘With A Touch Gold’ ootd. I find it hard to clash items together, especially patterns and pastels. Of course being me, it is definitely out of my comfort zone yet something I would love to try with hopefully some success!

Now, I have worn this combination too many times and it is on a high rotation - it’s just really easy, and simple.  I quickly rushed to get these photos before the sun went down, in the golden light as some have called it and it really beautiful!

I hope you like this ootd! It is an old one which I haven’t been able to post because I’ve come down with a disgusting plague of something (I can’t believe I’m sick again!) and it’s featuring my old haircut. You also have to please excuse the mess and amateurism of it all with my messiness!

Holiday Blues

It has been exactly a week since I was on a short mini holiday in Blackheath and although it was only for 3 short days, it was exactly what I needed. It was peaceful, quiet and relaxing, and to my surprise, it wasn’t as cold as I expected it to be! It could be that the fireplace was on once I was awake til the moment I went to sleep?

The days leading up to it made me so excited, and I had to run so many errands before leaving. My favourite was going to Lush and picking bath bombs for the holiday and I felt like such a weirdo sniffing them all! I felt like my nose was going to die but the smells were oh so worth it. In the end, I picked up the Sakura, Sex Bomb and Twilight bath bombs, and my favourite is the Twilight but the prettiest is definitely the Sakura!

The cottage was adorable and cosy, and playing house was such a massive tease. There were candles in every room and the first thing I did when I got into the cottage was jump on the bed, as you do, just to check how comfortable it is. I jumped pretty high.

The one thing that I will say that I was really hesitant about was the 4-hour 7km hike that I agreed to. The Grand Canyon Loop was literally around the corner from the cottage and I was in a hateful mood near the end of it. I was pumped for it at the beginning, okay during the middle then hateful at the end - I said some pretty hateful stuff (I’m sorry!). Overall, the scenery was beautiful and amazing. There’ll be a post soon just for the hike!

The overall experience just made me realise how much I needed a holiday and how I seriously need one every couple of months just to relax and just gather my thoughts. I was really excited for my Asia trip at the end of the year because it would have been perfect but because of some issues I won't be going anymore (I'm still crying a little inside!). So because of this, my next holiday destination will be Melbourne in January! I can’t wait! Hopefully there'll be another Asia trip next year - the cards are still on the table!
