Valentine's Day Outfit Inspiration

It is the last day of January and I know it's only the end of the month but the presence of Valentine's Day is everywhere and very present. In saying that, of course preparation is key when it comes to the most romantic day of the year.

With the day fast approaching, my reaction and attitude towards it all is pretty much the same as last year – very chill and I have no idea what I’m doing. The only thing that is very guaranteed is that I am working on the actual day, which I’m not too fussed about. My question will always remain the same, what are your plans and can I please become your 3rd wheel?

Being as it is the most romantic day of the year, I chose some amazing outfits, which I hope inspire you. I love each outfit and I focused on blush tones and tulle because both elements are very cute, quirky and chic. It’s something that can’t go wrong in any situation (in my opinion) and they’re outfits I think everyone can get a little inspiration from.

I just love how each outfit can be worn at different occasions, not just Valentine's Day but then can apply throughout the entire day of it as well. I don't have a favourite, although I did try to pick just one. It was too hard but I will say that I am trying to hunt down a tulle blush midi tulle skirt! I probably won't give up.

So for my plans this year, I do have some lined up to spend the evening with friends, nothing flash and of course, there’s going to be food involved. Preferably pizza, please! Now, although it won’t be romantic, it’s always a day where I spend it with those I love and are very thankful to have in my life. Happiness is hard to come and sometimes, we don’t know it was a happy moment til we look back and smile about it. Please don’t think about it and become sad. It can also be a day where you spoil yourself and pampering yourself is never a wrong option.

With a Touch of Gold

My Valentine’s was very eventful for me. It wasn’t splashes of romantic gestures or anything as amazing as what some couples did on the day. It wasn’t the best day in terms of weather and it wasn’t the best of days for some people and some of my friends. I know I woke up really early – something I had to make myself do after having sleep-ins the entire week from my mini holiday, and I called my best friend. I had a gift for her and it was something I had to give her.

So the night before I laid out my outfit - something Alexa Chung would definitely disapprove of and I baked my first ever batch of butter cookies. I will say that it’s part of the reason for it being eventful because they turned out so well. I was literally gleaming! I will say they needed some extra sugar and a little more cocoa powder but other than that, they were perfect.

Of course my best friend featured in my day, she randomly was in front of my door step and soon after, inside on the couch. I gave her, her presents – an orchard and some of the butter cookies. Something I love about her is, she can just come into my home and make herself a cup of tea, something she actually did!

... I will say that it was an amazing day overall, two special in my life that I spent it with and another good friend the day after! Now I feel too spoilt but to me, it didn’t need to be over the top or have romantic written everywhere. There was lunch; there were movies, jokes and dinner. The conversations that day seemed a little more special and so were the gifts given to me. I’m holding onto that promise, that’s for sure and I think on the day, everything just seemed right.

I hope that you’re day was amazing and I hope you can tell me what you did! I would of happily stayed at home and played games and watch movies all day with some pizza. Who doesn’t love pizza?!

The photos above were taken after lunch so please excuse my food baby if it’s noticeable!

Valentine's Day Hair Inspiration

Valentine’s Day is coming up and honestly, I have no idea what I am doing. Do you have any plans? Can I join? Hehe.

Even though I don’t have plans, I have an outfit ready and the only thing left is hair. I know a lot of girls will have their outfits planned for the occasion and what’s left til last and sometimes forgotten is hair! I will say I’m the boring one who either straightens their hair or curls it – rarely anything different.

Here are some amazing hairstyles which I hope inspire you like it did to me and encouraged me to try something different. I am in love with braids and have always thought them to be romantic, especially in a crown and with the messy touch. It is always perfectly messy. And don’t forget the bow! Nothing says ‘it’s a present’ unlike a bow does, so why can’t we wrap our beautiful heads as well?

In preparation for the day, I have constantly been practising the braid crown as I like to call it and I am so happy with what I’ve done. I hope you’re able to try these out or inspire you to try something fabulous for the day.

Although I might not be doing something amazingly romantic, I know it's best to do something that's special and something that you'll remember in years to come because being happy where you are in that present moment is always the best and in its purest form. I’m sending you my love on the day and if you aren’t spending it with a partner, spend it with those you love most - family and/ or friends because the day is about love. Also don’t forget about yourself because you are important as well!
